Orienteering race (CATI Gladesville) 42:41 [3] ** 7.3 km (5:51 / km) +182m 5:12 / km
spiked:7/11c shoes: Merrell Trail Glove

Another rainy morning in Sydney. For the race, the sun came out, but by that time everything was wet beyond repair. Chose the long moderate course and it was a fun run. Some of the stairs were more like cascades than stairs, In one park, kids were doing mudslides :) Had a couple of overshoots in the hospital area, and had to back up for the point.

Orienteering race (2013 ML 3) 44:32 [3] ** 4.5 km (9:54 / km) +160m 8:24 / km
spiked:9/12c shoes: Merrell Trail Glove

Another rainy run. I don't know what Bennelong is doing but lately all their events were washed away by rain bucketing down.
The course was in a typical Sydney scrub area. There were really no opportunities for any significant shortcuts off the trails as the bush was just way too thick.Mad a stupid mistake at #6 and lost a good 3 minutes there. Was looking for the control way further up the creek than where it was. Overshot #2 as well (not used to the 1:7500 map) but realised it quickly and went back for it. I was still the quickest runner in the Dragons team :)

Running race (Sydney Urbanathlon) 1:07:15 [4] 11.84 km (5:41 / km) +160m 5:19 / km
shoes: Merrell Trail Glove

Felt good on the run today. Started in the very last wave, and hat to overtake loads of slower runners. There were 10 different fun obstacles in the course, like sandbag carrying, 100m timed dash, running in car tyres, and climbing wooden walls.

Running race (Great NOSH footrace) 1:43:38 [4] 15.9 km (6:31 / km) +420m 5:45 / km
shoes: Merrell Trail Glove

Weather: Extremely Wet. 20mm of rain during the first hour. Total 29mm of rain during the run. 35 km/h winds.
Was more like creek walking than trail running. Rain was bucketing down all the way from start to finish, and leeches were attacking from down below. The rain kept me cool the whole distance. In the beginning, I tried to keep my feet relatively dry, but after the 3rd waterfall / creek crossing with waist deep water, it didn't matter any more. Of course the sun came out the minute the race was over... Couldn't have had more fun for a Sunday morning :)
