Rosaryville

Course Distance: 10.0 km
Actual Distance: 12.7 km

First time orienteering at Rosaryville since 2012. It took me a little while to remember that not all the streams are marked on the map as streams. This caused me to lose some time while looking for 131.

I got lost while looking for 107. I turned on to one trail, thinking it was another trail. After a minute I realized my mistake, because the trail was twisting and turning much more than it should have been. I probably should have turned around and retraced my steps. Instead I tried cutting cross country to get back to the other trail but I did something wrong and wound up even further off course than I was before. I finally figured out where I was when I saw some private homes that I had passed before when heading from 120 to 119. After that I didn't have any trouble finding my way.

Biked all the way to the office, for the first time. Took a shorter route (13.8 miles) than the one I used to bike home on Tuesday night (15.7 miles). Only stopped twice en route (11th & Kenyon; Jefferson Memorial) to check CaBi bike in/out before arriving in Shirlington.

The differences that make my PM route longer than my AM route are mostly found in the Arlington portion of the commute.
