Road Race/Running 21:34 [4] 2.92 km (7:23 / km)
shoes: Duluth Wild Boar

My focus now is increasing my speed. Today I was trying to maintain an 8KM/hr overall average on the GPS. I took off fast at the start (level to the downhill). The long flat after that I gradually started loosing the average. The end (all uphill) is always a bear for me. Finished meeting the goal - yea! Never could get into a comfortable breathing rhythm. AP shows the improvement with speed going from 7:43 per KM last week to 7:23 per KM.

Orienteering race 16:07 [4] 1.2 km (13:26 / km)
shoes: Jalas - Spiked

This was the short course at Waverly Park. One of our maps which is on a Glacial Knob. Very steep area. My first time back to Waverly in about 5 years. I have really been excited that the Sunday sprints are using several maps that have not been used in a while. Map is missing a lot of features for example I passed 3 ditches on the way to #1 only one on the map. I ran along the creek to the control #1.

Orienteering race 32:51 [4] 2.2 km (14:56 / km)
shoes: Jalas - Spiked

This was the long sprint course at Waverly. Very steep leg from #6 to #7. My first time wearing the Jalas since Dave's Night course in the A meet at Hueston woods. More comfortable than I remember.

Note

Day 4 of 52 - Orienteering & AR meet days.

Orienteering 30:00 [3]
shoes: Jalas - Spiked

Picking up controls after the meet.
