Walking 2:20:00 [2] 3.0 mi (46:40 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia

Long walk deep into the woods on the farm along a creek. Sun does not shine down here. Cold and snow covered ground. This is the land of 20 foot contours. Topography here is like Jenny Wiley State park. Very impressed with my 7 year old grandson who did the trek with me. He's not real focused what 7 year old is, but strong. No complaints he did two very long and steep hill climbs.

Walking 1:00:00 [2] 1.5 mi (40:00 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia

Walk about on the farm with two Grandsons. We had a good time. Cold and snowy. None of the rocks broke the ice on the pond.

Walking 28:55 [3] 2.82 km (10:15 / km)

Setup the goat in the OE 2003 program. Since two controls can be skipped that will not work with SI Simple. I am using SI Simple for the Junior and the Kid. We should have 6 high school ROTC groups at the meet. I have really tried to educate the instructors that the high school kids don't need to be on the goat.

Working on the goat meet. Got the courses reviewed by Arnie. We made a few changes. I set the time on all the controls we are using except for the controls Louie picked up. Cannot hook up with him. We are using CCC this year for the goat. We got their permission but we have to stay on the west side of the camp due to clean up day on the east. It's been over 10 years since we held a meet on the west side of the camp. I've been doing map cleanup for a while.

Walking 28:19 [1] 2.82 km (10:02 / km)

One last comment on the Bradford Woods Meet. I been to several classic Orienteering Meets using manual punches. A couple of them the meet director arranged the controls in such a way that people were running it like a score O. Thankfully the meet yesterday was organized in a broad loop where there would be almost no gain from cheating.
