Mapped at the Waterfront Park today. The old railroad bridge now open to foot and bike is the star of this park. Creates interesting mapping problems. Cold and windy today, the parking lot was still 90% full.

Water Pump went on my old Mazada today. The regular mechanics want about $1100 to fix it, since the timing belt, etc has to all be redone. Too much for a car worth about $500. In cases like this I use a friend of a friend who is a brilliant car mechanic but hopelessly drunk most of the time. When he has a dry period, I'll see if I can get it fixed cheap. Oh well always something.

Dan sent around the spec's on new SI splits printer. It looks like it comes with USB compatability as well as the RS-232. Yea!

First thoughts to the OLOU Board since recovering from the meet
I am currently working through the logistics of what happened and will be ready to make recommendations after studying possible solutions. Tax season slows me down a bit. As many of you may or may not know, we had 101 participants that generated 251 starts. Arnie ran the starts and I ran the admin side. At times the line to download reached 15 people deep. At times the split’s printer was blinking that is was overheating. Then of course the batteries started to go low, also causing blinking. There were several other issues that I am currently studying when I get a moment between tax returns.

A couple of things are clear to me, a second splits printer with a download box is a good idea, but it really needs to have a USB interface instead of the RS-232 that this unit has. Also, a second person has to be in admin at a meet of this size
