Road Race/Running race 32:59 [4] 5.0 km (6:36 / km)
weight:234lbs shoes: Brooks Cascadia

This is the first time I ever did a 5K road race. After seeing everybody's logs, I realized I need to pick up some intensity in some of my workouts. I decided I would try a 5 K, had no idea of pace or anything just followed someone who seemed to be going just a little faster than me.

Did the first mile in 10.34, the second in 9:46. Really struggled at the very end but I could see the finish line, that kept me going. I guess the real test is can I walk tomorrow.

Cedar Creek has me real interested in putting some biking in my workouts. I used to use a bike all the time for running errands etc, until my negative experiences. Oh well, so much of this is mental.

Mapping at St Matthews Community Park. Woods are white in several places after the invasive species removal. This will make an interesting sprint map.

Mapping at Waterfront Park. I picked up the pace for me - jogging. I was trying to cover more ground.

I was very impressed with Waterfront Park. Not nearly as open as I remember and it's huge. It would make a great sprint venue.

I will check with Dan and see if we have permission to use it yet. If not I will start running the approval up the flag pole.
