A couple bad route choices and couple nav errors. But I did win one leg, you got to start somewhere. Very rainy and cool. Glasses fogged when I went into the woods part of the couse. I could see my breath in there too. Great fun for July.

Our final day we decided to map the shore line of the largest island. My biggest surprise was at the back of a cove, I pushed up the feeder creek like I always do, normally you run out of water in a couple meters. This time I came out in about a meter into a huge pond. I felt my jaw drop, just never expected that.

This island I have found out very little about, mainly hunter blogs. It is owned by the Army Corp. It's large enough to support deer hunting. The hunters in their blogs have claimed anywhere from 290 to 400 acre size for the island. On my trip around the island, I pulled tracks and my total distance huging the coast line was 6.59 KM.

Finished up the Cave Creek shoreline for the O meet in September, moved onto the paddle O map we are creating. We made it up to the islands area worked on the 3 southern most islands. Went to the back of a cove, beached the boats and then spent an hour under a rock overhang during a thunderstorm. The beauty of the this area is incredible. We are continuing ideal weather for paddling highs in the low 90's and lows in the 70's.

Turned in a sluggish performance on the sprint tonight. First meet I have run in quite a while. Forgot to bring the runner sheets home with me, so posting results will need to wait till I get the data.

One nav error, the rest of the legs were clean. Other than I have not run in a while, it felt good just to get back on a course.
