Orienteering race 25:00 [4]

Falling Tide between 2.3-1.85m map of Spanish Banks. Was a mass start and i ended up in lead pack of 4.Most awesome oreintering I've done in a long time

went for easy run with friend dictated by my pace. meant to go for aprox an hour but were enjoying ourselves and went a bit longer

Orienteering race 15:08 [4]

Burne Creek ravine Si race.
Legs felt dead but I read ahead and rotated map. Race was smooth except for tiny hesitations by 5,6 b/c i needed to read map tiny bit more. Had coupe sec lost on controls 12,17 b/c i was so focused on getting to control circle and planing next route I didn't pay attention to what was in control circle.

Orienteering race 15:51 [4]

Had good race in pursuit finals at Deer Lake north. had people starting 3 and 5 secs behind me but managed to focus on my own race. Lost bit of time on 5, 9 because i didn't read ahead enough. Was caught by graheme rennie at 9 but used it as motivation. 2 of us stuck together till the butterfly at the end where I outran him/he made 6s route choice error.

Orienteering race 14:01 [4]

Mundy park race. benified a bit from knowledge of park but was suprised to end up in a number of areas I'd never run before.
Race went well. Missed a couple of "ideal" route choices but made consistently good choices
The read ahead focus work out well. My planed route stayed in front of my position through most of the race. Was pleased how i read ahead and new where to head out of the circle during the section of tightly grouped controls (9-17). The legs i made less than ideal route choices where the ones where I was falling behind on my reading (4-5, 8-9, 18-19 ). Luckily my knowledge of the park let me figure out a decent route to 19 en route.

Orienteering 10:00 [3]

Fun relay race in Blue mountian Park. Graheme and Ian won but there aren't any results to prove it.
lost a fair bit of time checking control codes (printed on map). Second loop was faster and smoother b/c i focused on being confident in my route/ that I had orienteered to the right control (didn't check codes except when I wasn't confident i was at right one).

Orienteering 20:00 [3]

Map of cameron library and surrounding urban area. Really neat map that was fun for o-tervals. Had to be planing route constantly. Great practice for planning in complex areas while at high speed (wasn't at full race pace)

Orienteering race 13:19 [4]

Farsta. (first 3 loops forked, last was same for all runners). My first 3 loops had couple mistakes. wasn't doing great job reading ahead but kept map oriented. Last leg was great. Made up some time on first 2 controls, held position on flat bit (3-5) then blew past 3 people up the light green hill to the finish.

Dogbones exercise around proier community complex. Didn't have the smoothest route but manged to string them together is a semi smooth way.

Orienteering race 13:18 [4]

First race of Sprint Camp (1st of 5 SI event for overall sprint camp champ).
Hadn't been orienteering In 2 weeks and had a minimal warm up. Wore gloves b/c of the cold. Due to gloves and laziness I wasn't reorienting the map. headed off wrong direction on an easy leg and lost 30s. Also lost 40-45s on control 4-5. Hadn't stated reading leg early enough and missed that the control was on a diferent level from the sidewalk by the water. Reoriented, found the stairs I needed to go up and got pulled in the wrong direction by a control i could see.

The 2 mistakes I made becamse my foucs for the camp. A) refolding/orienting map B)reading ahead.
