oh shit! Pain all night - seems I wasn't actually ready for a 10km muddy run at just under threshold.

Beaten up - will need a few days now.

Not sure if this is age or just unfitness. Or something else.

As I was picking up new running shoes nearby (Up & Running), decided to run round my old stomping ground, the Downs at Clifton. Knew it would be slippery, so brought my NY 2014 fell shoes (bought from PB Sports, Kendal.....) to run in.

Utter mudfest. Cold NW wind too, so some kms felt uphill; others were fast with wind behind. Cagoule on the whole way. Hat came off after a while, as did gloves.

Sadly RH (unusually) calf / soleus started snitching / stabbing pains quite grimly in the final few kms. Hope (& doubt) not serious. Almost certainly because of the non stop sliding & slipping in the vile mud. Utterly covered in shit by the end.

Hot bath for a change later.

weirdly, Garmin connect lying about the climb - saying 503ft! I'll take Strava's this time. Pretty flat

Quite blustery & only a minite-ish quicker than last week, sigh!

Jackie Hallett's S&C online session again.

Finding the abs exercises very difficult again - almost certainly due to not doing as much rehab post-summer 2017 laparotomy. had to quit a couple.

well worth doing this tho.
