Note
(injured) (rest day)

Knee much improved.

Can barely feel pain walking (even down steps), & getting in & out of car, bed etc.

Good sign. Best keep it that way. ie. do nothing.

Drove Liz (on crutches) to visit her ailing mother in care home in Cardiff. Neither Liz nor her Mum are doing well........ :-( Lots of flooded fields.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Knee less sore. Good.

However, on bending down fully (frog pose) (to stretch my bad back), pain returns on the inside at tendon insertion, so let's not kid ourselves we're fine.

Physio today.
Diagnosis is minor MCL strain. Not serious, phew. Pain eased a bit today. Physio still found the damage site tho. MCL insertion into top of tibia, inside of knee lower.

K-Tape put on. Some rehab needed to keep knee in condition while it recovers. Knee isn't unstable tho. Good.

POM is out, but from there on, a gradual return within pain is possible.

I'm canning any idea of training this spring now, so will just do what i feel like when i feel like it, & go round O events with no expectations. I'm still prone to being very tired, so an enforced lay-off of at least another month is a "good" thing.

There'll be no selections this year! Not bothered. I achieved my 10 year ambition last September. (VHI / England)

No improvement. Knee brace on to do outdoor stuff.

Interesting morning being examined by six medical students at my GP's. The subject was my huge stomach op July 2017, from which i've recovered, but they confirmed I do indeed have a post-operation hernia & will likely remain in hernia state until I die.

They'd never seen a chest like mine either. Or someone so thin & active, but with diabetes.

Then I told them I'd been crippled with ME/CFS age 33-40 ("98% harder to live with than diabetes" - get the message over!!!).

At this point they ceased to believe I could actually still be alive. Hmmm.

My eosinophil count now is 1.61, range is 0-0.50; but in summer 2017 it was 5.5, ouch, that'll be why, then. Fingers crossed.
