Note
(injured) (rest day)

Walking with a pole, & heavy knee brace on . A very gentle day trying to not get pain in knee. Helped Liz with housework. Heartbreaking to see her nearing despair 2 months in, and unable to bend her leg (as is to be expected by now). She fears (as would I) that she will never make a full recovery from this catastrophe. & may never climb again.

Me? Blood test tomorrow (check for a possible & frightening return of my eosinophilia; plus possible ongoing viral infection), and physio Wednesday (knee injury that wasn't triggered by anything whatsoever).

Much more bad news in 2020 & i have decided to simply give up. I kind of have already..... if knee gets worse, I won't be fit enough to board a plane to POM / carry luggage (stairs are now a challenge)....

Note
(injured) (sick) (rest day)

Battled over to Gwent league XC race to collect my 10% T shirt (who else has got one of those, eh? EH? Ben M? Ben M? - both of you ;-) )

Knee in a heavy support again, & actually using a walking pole. The pain in my knee has been making me feel sick, so I've decided I'll do anything to help reduce the risk of further pain.

Energy poor, but acceptable. DVO & indeed all races tomorrow cancelled, so not going to Sheffield was the right thing to do. Shame to miss Undy, tho.

Note
(injured) (sick) (rest day)

Felt awful.
Knee bad (it's got *much* worse this week),
Decided Sheffield would be daft, not to mention a terrible forecast.
Gonna rest up.

Edit: crashed out on sofa 10:30 - 1:30pm. Slept for most of it.
Something's going badly wrong here, and i would not like to speculate what it is.

Walking 1:24:41 [1] 6.75 km (12:33 / km) +79m 11:51 / km
(injured) (sick) (rest day)

Not really training, but a nice walk on a lovely day with Chris J's super new Stapleton / eastville park map. I will be amending it so people can run through my building's grounds!

Knee pretty sore still. Bizarre. Sinuses improved - have I beaten Otrivine? GP ordered new blood tests (for ongoing sinus as well as inability to run), plus prescribed a steroid inhaler (not banned), which will be better for me than the addictive instant-hit Otrivine. Felt better today.

Cycling 23:30 [3] 7.01 km (3:21 / km) +52m 3:14 / km
(injured) (sick)

Knee worse last night & this morning. Can't be bothered working out why.

Going "cold turkey" on Otrivine, apparently I *really* need to get off it. Night's sleep was broken, but OK considering.

Steady cycle to see if I still could. Knee hurt. Heart rate very high. Suspect I'm still carrying a low level virus. GP tomorrow.

Note
(injured) (sick) (rest day)

Knee seems improved. More ice, elevation etc.

Nose still terrible - full dependency on Otrivine - this is getting chronic & of major concern. needed it twice yesterday, THEN woke at 5am fully blocked & with a terrible super-dry mouth/throat.

This is dependency. Need to see a pharmacist or GP. No idea how to break the cycle.

Am an ex-runner (for now), I just bluff round O courses now. Is this my lot, am i done? 3 months & counting.

edit: seeing GP thursday.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Knee seems no worse really. Ice, move a bit, etc.

Should BOK invalidate control 108? I think there's a case for it, even tho I was ok (lost 15 seconds?).
