Note
(rest day)

Back v sore, & feel quite beaten up (14 hour day yesterday didn't help). RH soleus seems fine.

Analysis of the race now results etc are up again shows me wayyyy off the pace early on. Starting even faster would be futile, as I'd cock up even more. But this is daft! Not sure what i can do - whatever ? Just get into it at my own clearly "pedestrian" pace (I'm not getting it - I felt i was careering out of control on the way to no 2, but was already off the pace!), & kick ass later on in races, when warmed up & flowing, as I do anyway? (my split to no 10 is pleasing).

Orienteering race 42:29 [5] 7.4 km (5:44 / km) +205m 5:03 / km
shoes: VJ Integrators

Compass Sport Cup final, Pippingford park, blue men 6.3km/230m

Late start, having got up at 5:40am, Coach arrived <10am, start 1:23pm :-\

Clear run apart from no 2 (not alone here! - Martin, Paul.....), where I was a bit far right & panicked slightly on relocation - Neil Crickmore more or less caught me 1 minute at the flag - luckily I didn't notice him, and just continued with my race oblivious.

I got lucky on the notorious no 5, carefully pacing in on rough compass from the earthbank on the same contour, just glimpsed it as i was about to turn right up hill - which was where Cap'n Gebbett, Chas & many others ended up. Not sure this control was fair.

Really took the brakes off for the rest of the course & ran as aggressively as I had at Chinley Churn & Pentlands.

On run in it was announced I was leading, and my lead lasted precisely 5 mins 53 seconds as Clive did the "inevitable". So second again, as 2015 when Clive & were 1-2 in the Lakes. Clive had tweaked a calf later on and I'd taken a chunk out of him on the long no 10, so he deserved it! BOK's performance most disappointing., what's wrong with people? FVO were fantastic to organise their win. And I spoke to / saw many Interlopers over the w/e - they made a great effort (& got on the podium).

14 hour day & very sore as no rehab on back etc in that time.

Running race 19:39 [5] 4.98 km (3:57 / km) +6m 3:55 / km
shoes: Innov8 MudClaw 300 2019

Keynsham ParkRun, for a laugh, a crazy flat grassy course with at least 50 tight turns, including twice in & out of the "curly-wurly" !!!

Started too fast (with Colin Eades - random!!!), sped off to 3rd place in 1st km 3:43, too fast really.

3rd but 2nd "really" - whatever? "It's not a race". Glad to get sub 20. RH Soleus a bit sore after but all fine during "race".

Note
(rest day)

Flat out with ME/CFS work & music learning work (new band gig 9 days to go ), plus a leak at my other flat.

Anyone who thinks I'm a full time dosser / athlete should spend a day with me like this.

Definitely need a (sport) rest tho. Good call.

I shall die poor, but having been busy lots.

I've been promoted to 3rd at the Gwent league, no idea why, but i'll take it. https://www.gwent-league.org.uk/2019/sm55191i.htm

Note

results out for saturday. I was close to 2nd, but the winner was ridiculously far ahead - no chance, ever! the 2 just ahead, I was near but had no answer in the final 600m when my legs just dropped off. Never mind.

3 PM

Running 32:28 [3] 6.49 km (5:00 / km) +77m 4:43 / km
shoes: Brooks Ravenna 10

Steady Frome valley / oldbury court - felt really tired.

Sometimes i should listen to body rather than thinking - I've not run for 3 days, therefore I must go running today. also pain in RH shin. weird.
