Saw Liz last night - she says my knee is definitely NOT medial cruciate ligament, but it's weird, and not sure what it can be. it's below the knee joint on inside, but she thinks it could be the one that goes over from ANTERIOR hip , over the front of my thigh, and down to INSIDE of knee - I just have no clue, & no time to see physio either. Direct pain in knee has eased somewhat now, but i can feel it walking. No way can I run.
Rest, ice to knee, back still pretty bad - hopefully will start to settle down.
Knee looks like there will be minimal Italian Dolomites action now.
This happened on Oxwich, I wasn't used to soft sand, & was < 48 hrs after giving my absolute all at the TACH race. (... and why did I need to do that....?)
I'm nearly 54. I need to slow down & maybe cruise runs rather than giving it my all anymore. Hang on.. i can't run.
Lower back feels like its been hit with an iron bar; knee sore. In pain getting up & sitting down, but OK once sat down or standing up :-) Calf still cramping/throbbing. Used foam roller.
Tim Tett rang - reckons i've strained a medial cruciate ligament (inner knee) & they take a while to settle down. I am gutted.
Ice, hot water bottles, ibuprofen. Dolomites 5 days starts a week today - will try to sell my entry.
It never rains..... my lower back went into MASSIVE spasm at breakfast. Unbelievable. In considerable-to-severe pain all day, (could not partake in sightseeing), and others had to carry my bags for me. & give me extra strong painkillers. (Owain & Scott are stars - I'd helped Scott with his injured ankle all week...) Airport in particular was gruesomely painful for me.
Got home 9:30pm, a mixed trip, surely over time i will remember the good bits and "forget" the misfortune.
Am wondering if I should have had a whole year off post operation last July, as I feel my swollen & weak core is still making me vulnerable. Oh well.
