Cycling 45:20 [3] 13.43 km (3:23 / km) +122m 3:14 / km
(injured)

I'm clearly carrying 2 injuries - tho one is probably a "condition" - unstable lower back & referred LH hip/ buttock pain; ongoing; no end to it.

Miserable and dull cycle ride - calf hurt a bit on pushing down on pedals, but nothing to cry about. LH hip/buttock horrible. Hurts just to walk. Why did this happen? No effing idea, but it could curtail my career & certainly it's blighting my life.

Not keen on cycling as a way of training, either. Hmmm.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Calf survived gig. Some gentle walking today, without protective limp or strapping. Seemed (tentatively) OK. Liz thinks calf will be fine for JK. Back / LH hip still bad.

Gig was excellent.

Calf seems stronger. Not testing it yet - needs to be protected for later.

Leaving it taped up for tonight's gig https://www.facebook.com/events/1178004502330906/

5pm - 1am? This will be an interesting test - and risky, as adrenaline, painkillers & alcohol all mask pain. YES ALCOHOL.

We shall see. Bandmates are mucking in to help me carry stuff; and the stage I have no room to do anything but stand there! Sorted! :)

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Strapped up lower calf / soleus / ankle & tried not to use calf muscle.

Very difficult day. Driving slightly painful, but possible.

Grade ? tear - 1?

Orienteering race 15:23 [3] 2.67 km (5:46 / km) +43m 5:20 / km
(injured) shoes: VJ Integrators

Had "decided" to skip Army O event and go indoor bouldering, for back "issue", but nice day, so couldn't resist army event. Near A303.

Huge mistake. LH Lower calf/ achilles / soleus "twinged" within 30 seconds of starting. twinged again en route to no 2. Surely I'll warm up & be fine. Back troubling me a bit. Surely i'll warm up.

another sharp twinge after no 4.

Approaching no 6, i actually said out loud, "Come on, when are you going to knock this on the head"? 30 seconds later, as I ran up the bank to the control, PING, scream, sit down. 30 minute hobble with a stick back to assembly.

Game over. Morale : if you back's iffy, there will be ramifications down your legs. In my case, they will not be worth the risk. Ever.

RICE RICE RICE RICE but mostly, GUTTED.

Had it been raining, I would not have gone. I'd have gone bouldering. SHIT.

Luckily i was not driving, as that's hard and I walk with my foot out at 45 degrees. Huge gig in two nights' time. Oh fuck.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Hopefully not an injury, but lower back (not hip related) painful today - enough to ruin my day & call off climbing, & hurts changing gear.

So a rest. oh well.
