Note

Long cold snowy windy walk in Black mts with Liz, from Crickhowell over table mountain & up onto the 710m high ridge (mist all the way).

Both got cold feet & I had a mini hypo, but good & rather tiring! walked back on the road last 2½ miles. Snow not sufficient for ice axe.

Climbing (Bouldering) 1:00:00 [3]
(injured)

(Cycled to town & back - 1st "ride" for weeks ). 30 mins.

TCA bouldering - took it easy; first session since before my operation, ie 5 months.

Felt odd & injured shoulder was weird, but good to see what happened. Bumbled on all the Swirls, plus the odd yellow. & easy circuit.

Didn't enjoy it though - boring. I guess it takes a while to get re-addicted? Also boring when you can't really try, due to complete bodily/mental crapness. (shoulder / back / buttock/ hands / non flexible/ post-illness / general depression).

Glad I went, though. Liz & Nellie were there too.

Note

PS. one small advantage of being a landlord is getting to show young prospective tenants around.

Last night's applicant was drop dead gorgeous, to the point of OMG!!!! - (my remaining tenant's eyes nearly popped out too) and even got into my car afterwards; I "ran her home" (at least 3 minutes out of my way ;) ) She's very trusting! Luckily I'm not Harvey W. No #metoo's here!

Probably why i never get laid - he certainly did, the arsehole.

Luckily, the only sort of shagging he's going to get from now on, will be being done TO him. Meanwhile, the rest of us feel guilty just looking at women these days. #tarred

Running 17:34 [3] 3.4 km (5:10 / km) +53m 4:48 / km
(injured) shoes: Brookes Ravenna 8

Another try-out - buttock bad yesterday, and hamstring sore too.

Surprisingly, neither hurt as much as i'd thought they would. Hoping for osteopath on Sunday..... the only reason for heading out today was to try to get feedback for her, at worst.

Lungs v poor in cold air - but seeing as I've been so ill, that's not a worry, as it's expected - especially when you see how utterly, physiologically appalling my entire "chest" area is .

Felt v rough up hill at end. But another step in the right direction. 10,000 to go?

Whatever. https://www.strava.com/activities/1313607440

Note
(injured) (rest day)

1) Left buttock / hamstring really sore. So I'm not in a fit state to start running; similar to last winter, where i lost 2½ months to hamstring pain (also left side)

2). after eating half a packet of "chilli & lime" "vegetable crisps" last night on return from the pub, I had indigestion so bad sleep was nearly impossible, but then:

3) the FIRE ALARM in my building went off - its DEAFENING - from 2:43am til well after 3am. Turns out it was the couple ABOVE me (the nocturnal ones) - who had let their "chopping board" catch fire at 2:40am. After changing bedrooms twice, I probably got back to sleep well after 4am. Woke 9:40am.

Right.

I am going stark staring mad. Not sure how to change this.

Go to Switzerland on Tuesday & life re-starts on January 3rd here - re-assess then.

Running 12:00 [1] 2.0 km (6:00 / km) +39m 5:28 / km
(injured) shoes: Brookes Ravenna 8

Despite lower back / hip / buttocks still nowhere near "right" (can't do any stretches down LH leg at all - would probably be harmful), tried a short jog (posting Xmas cards en route). Back/LH buttock surprisingly not too bad.

Back to square one - like 3 weeks ago. Barely off the starting blocks ever these days. Back "OK" -ish; LH foot (ball of foot) a worry - it's not bruised, it just aches..... like a bruise. This flared up horribly in London last month, walking without a supportive insole in my "smart" shoes - what is wrong with this foot? It's been troubling me on & off for years. LH ball / below middle toe really.

Pathetic state of affairs - need to change hobby . / be an occasional "jogger for fitness & wellbeing".
