massive walk / climb up Gummfluh, 2458m, from Chateau d'oex. , with Helen & Philppa

took 7 hours, but was quite stressful due to steep drops & almost no protection. used rope & harnesses.

hot and had to walk fast at end.

we were all wrecked, but for me, this has triggered another relapse of my CFS/ME condition; lik last year; I do not understand how, as for eg, the OMM (both days) was harder last autumn, & did not leave me ill at all.

I am at a loss. but not happy. the altitude cannot have been a factor as <2500m is not a lot, and it wasn't eve more than 7 hours.

Just spent £330 on mew ALpine gear so am feeling really low about this. Liz arrives on Ffriday for 3 weeks. Hmm........

total day off relaxing & chilling & sorting out gear in Chateau d'oex.

apartment has a swimming pool & Jacuzzi too, so the rain doesn't matter.

Beer & wine and food aplenty.

drive from Troyes over Jura into Switzerland to neuchatel (new route), and on to arrive in chateau d'oex at 6:30pm. Rain on arrival.

long days drive & eurotunnel to mid france - Voue north of troyes.

massive accident on m4 but only ost 45 min - 30 of them with engine turned off.

tired but less ill....

Last day in the UK as I will try to drive to Europe tomorrow, sore throat / virus & all.

Bad timing & quite unhappy.

Sore throat much worse. Anne (Canada) & family left. I was crashed out.

Slept in afternoon. throat BAD.
