Outdoor bouldering at New Quarry, avon gorge - partly due to lovely sunny day , partly Liz refusing to do anything interesting today(like, urm, go climbing).

Plenty of traversy moves, leg not great but no more painful than when I'm doing normal stuff . Had to help two young lads who'd turned up with a 30m wall rope (urm....), and didnt' know how to tie off to thread a belay - which would have been a bit nasty, possibly fatal, had I not shown them how to do it then made them practice.

Good deed of the year. They then wobbled up the easiest route, and no one died. Felt like an elder statesman!

Finishing off the pond in my garden (help from Liz) - filled it with water. Quite a laborious day, but good!

Still no flexibility in my injured leg - too sore to stretch & told not to anyways. please get better?

What a busy day. Eclipse first thing, then new carpets fitted in house, then up to Clifton to supervise garage door repairs, then nearly 2 hours traffic jam coming back http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-31988... (accident on one carriageway of the Swing bridge - WHY CLOSE IT ALL FOR THREE HOURS????), then dug a pond in my garden (as you do), (back now hurts), then repairing a mate's guitar (and trying not to buy it in the process....), then back to chaotic house to re-sort out post-carpets ..... including a door off its hinges.....

"Rest" day - not! And I'm not in an office "working", but I'm working harder here, and up my other place, I can tell you.

Some exercises (rehab). Hamstring hurts. but not so much "broken-its-snapped" pain now, as "very sore ouch nasty stiff bruised" pain. Cycling & cross trainer seem OK. Next - easy rock climbing, longer country walks? Plus more gardening.

Beer o'clock.

Gym. 10 mins cross-trainer, easy, then 15 mins on exercise bike - mindlessly boring. then 2 x 3 x 15 situps plus other exercises designed to re-hab my torn hamstring. then finally 15 mind-numbing mins on cross trainer.

If this is training, then it's not about the journey, its about the destination. would have preferred to have been lolloping around ashton court in the sun, but there you go. Dire.

Physio session 2. As predicted, frictions on the injured hamstring. Painful. Very little improvement that I can see, though James disagrees & reckons i'll start to see significant improvements "later this week". Given exercises - will I have the willpower to do them? Also told I can start cross training in next few days & maybe some easy pedalling. Bouldering also a possibility as I can stay near the ground & NOT use the wounded leg.

JK Sprint is out of the question, as is probably the entire JK.

£90 down so far, another appointment next week.

I blame myself for lack of mobility exercises.
