(injured) (sick)

A lot better today - 48 hours after starting antiobiotics. Makes sense.

Back awful tho - woke in night, in pain, struggled again to get back to sleep :(

SPent day getting ready for holiday, at a gentle pace - also sauna / steam room at gym to try and shift remaining mucus from lungs.

No more entries til after the 10th now. May jog once on trip but no more - energy hopefully going into scrambles / walks like Puig Campana, and of course sport rock climbing :)

Feeling a little better, voice returning to normal pitch, cough v productive, but feeling like it's "clearing". Too soon for antibiotics to be working?

Evening: so after 4 pills out of 14, feeling more human, not crashing into bed at 9:00 or earlier, watching 2 films, felt OK, coughing a lot yes but feeling less "poisoned".

Hopeful now.

Back - forgot to take ibuprofen - will pay the price. And did. Its' beennearly a week so my back is injured, hmmm. From "crouching down" in the kitchen.

Godbye 2014, what a shit end to hard stressful year. NY resolution: have an EASIER LIFE.

(injured) (sick) (rest day)

Back bad again in night.
Dreadful night. awoke 5:45. Up 7:00 At NHS Bristol south walk in centre by 8am - first patient.

Given antibiotics eventually.
Cough horrendous - could open an Evostick factory (sadly Tim T doesn't do attack point).

I will paste in my facebook update:
Day 7 of lurgy - terrible night - up at 7am and at walk in centre at 8:00. Had to sit through the charade of Nurse giving the spiel about "it's probably only a virus" (urm, what, it's gone green....), and "most antibiotics are ineffective against 90% of common winter colds blah blah blah. I promptly coughed in front of her, and .... yeah, she got it, Could've saved 15 mins by saying "As a full UK taxpayer who knows exactly whats wrong with, me, 7 days broad spectrum penicillin based antiobiotic please". But no. "Hold this prescription for a day and don't start taking unless you get worse" .OK, thanks. A lot. Straight to Pharmacy. Straight down my neck. Immediately. (oh - after a 30 minute diversion *back* to the hospital, as she'd not signed it!!!!!!) . Seriosuly, the NHS struggle & she was ill herself, so I don't want to sound ungrateful. Anyway, what a happy Xmas & new year. Lemsip and Night nurse on the tipple list, earplugs & bed 10pm. Oh did i mention my back? No. It's also hurting. Goodbye 2014.

Another rest day, and after a 24 hour no coughing period, my lungs erupted at lunchtime, and I coughed til i nearly threw up.

Back to bed :(

Very bad later - will set alarm for 7am and go to NHS walk in centre :(
Green goobs tearing out of lungs.

Woke in the night & felt different. Finally got back to sleep & realised cough & sinuses were clearing a little. Could this be the turning point?

Still had a quiet day, just about venturing out to get supplies from chemist etc, then an easy day. Back still v sore. Will ask Liz to give me a massage.

Feeling almost human again after 4 days of utter boredom & symptoms. Good.
