Ran & photo'd SRC's Nightingale Nightmare race. jogged first 1.3 km, took pics, ran to 6.6km, took some more, ran up muddy hill (race course in reverse), and then ran down the eponymous valley, timed last 1km in 4:04, which was ok in a cagoule clutching a camera! (I averaged 3:50 per km in August on this stretch of Towpath).

If I'd raced, i suspect i'd have been first Vet50, but i didn't ..... achilles a bit grumbly in first bit, not so second, a bit annoying later, then fine again. I doubt I'm "that" injured really. Just unfit.

Gym: 15 mins on cross trainer, 5 x 15 sit ups, stretching, some exercises for my back / "weak" buttock, then 12 mins on running machine at an incline (which varied) - tough!

Only managed 1.5 miles in 13 minutes!!! the 10% uphill bits at 8mins per mile felt desperate!

No achilles pain at all (Osteopath advised me to try uphill running). Good-oh. Totally knackered after this morning's efforts, mind.

Cycled to TCA - 15 mins.

Big bouldering session (with Liz & Nellie), including a 6a problem, plus masses of general cranking.

Cycled home again 15 mins.

Knackered! This counts as training not a "note".

Dark run from LIz's house, no plan really, achilles not sore today so why not, felt frisky as legs totally not tired.

dying for the bog in last 1km, and starting to blow up a bit - fitness on the wane tho body still strong. 23 mins for a 5km. 60m climb too. (ran up windmill hill to see new house & see that next door is also for sale .....)

Indoor climbing, RedPoint, with Liz

Excellent session, after horrendous day at work.

Felt relaxed, strong, in control.... cruising. Flashed most stuff, led a steep 6a+ with ease. Fingers felt strong and stable; no flapping around.

I've climbed about 5 times since early sept, & the flow is coming back. Nice!

Can't run for shit, though.

Osteopath. Said my back issue was 90% better, , and that now my achilles needed sorting but was a "doddle" compared to the back problem.

Gave me lots of eccentrics to do, plus other stuff. Achilles hurting every morning again (nothing like last year, but not improving). Oh the shelf for a good while yet, methinks.

Injury box re-ticked.
