Orienteering race 55:04 [5] 6.3 km (8:44 / km) +250m 7:18 / km
shoes: Mud Claw 333

NGOC league,. Bixlade, nice sunny day, Blue, late start, felt good - new red Mud Claw.
Spiked first 4 controls , sligh miss on long leg at 6, no biggie ( lazy re. attack point), dodgy vegetation at 7 but fluked it, 8 was careful like RCRO, silly novice miss at 9 tho, turned wrong way up path! 1 minute?

10 - perfect; 11 - fine.
12 - ah. went in accurately, up hill, saw two ahead of me, both started milliing around. I tried to be clever but it quickly became apparent that there was no control in the woods we were in. I took bearings off buildings & path junctions - to no avail. Eventaully, Scott Bailey (i believe it was him) found a small white tag with the code on. OK, it's hardly a platform. So we ran on assuming control flag nicked.
Some silly errors from there on as i didn't care anymore. Nice fast finish. ONly a rather grumbly achilles (no reason!) marred the day.

Walked back to the area afterwards, came in on an atack point from the north, found the control immediately, in the higher woods near a massive change of vegetation that wasn't marked on the map. Really barely visiable at all. Shoddy,
Possibly 2nd to Pete ward, when they un-DQ me?
Ah - they have..... http://www.ngocweb.com/results/results_13_14/L7res...

Indoor climbing - very tired & fell off at bottom gashing below the knee. Hmm. I need to rest up more - yesterday's run pole axed me! Pub.

Running 44:00 [4] 10.0 km (4:24 / km) +129m 4:08 / km
shoes: Brooke Ravenna 4

Lucnhtime run - proper tempo running in park, 2 laps, each nearly 3km, with mud & hills. and 13 mins each. Run there & back is 4.11km. That took 18 mins. THat's the same pace - 7:04 per mile. 44 mins total for 10km.

So this is good, tho I'm knackered. But all good - no pains.

Great!
