Running 45:00 [3] 9.0 km (5:00 / km) +75m 4:48 / km
shoes: Brooks Ravenna 5

Another solo run, felt pretty frisky again, thin, desperately in need of food. Twice round Victoria park; over Totterdown. 45mins, some hills too. Some fast efforts - but not sustainable - who am I kidding?

Bonking last 5 minutes, as hadn't eaten remotely enough today, took blood sugar & found my levels were so low they were .... normal! (5.9mmol). So most people feel like this? I'd never get anything done. Almost shaking. Tea toast & crisps restored me.

Need to find a race / event - am keen now. Legs still feeling good. Fit?

Running 48:00 [3] 10.0 km (4:48 / km) +80m 4:37 / km
shoes: Saucony Guide 7

Good run up malago & round the edge of whitchurch. Felt great. Very light & nimble with strong (from mountain walking) legs. Felt more like the Phil of 2013-14 than the lumbering unfit & injured jogging lump of 2015. Hope this continues.

ABle to accelerate a few times as well, could have gone further / faster.....

Note

More Portland sport climbing with Steve after a nite in his camper van which was ace!

6 routes, all 6a or 6a+ like yesterday, all flashed. quite sore (fingers ) and a bit hungover / dehydrated.....

sore left elbow - think I banged it. back to Bristol. KNACKERED.

Note

Sport climbing on Portland. With steve

6 routes all 6a or 6a+. brilliant day. very light & nimble, but out of sport climbing practice.

best route by far was this - 6a+, 27m high. incredible position. got it by skin of teeth after steve put in the draws (and he had to rest....)

Note
(rest day)

Unpacking & sorting. Unending stuff to do.

Not bothered about going thru this again in a hurry!

Trip was overall a success, tho the bad bits were too bad for words. (9 day ME/CFS relaose in 2nd week - wiped out Liz my partner's aspirations - devastated me at the time, tho I made a 100% recovery).

Ilve lost a lot of "fat" but not much weight, so have put on muscle in legs etc.

Got to top of 2 4000m peaks (Allalinhorn, 4027m, & Bishorn, 4159m), and so lungs & heart etc are very fit, and I'm acclimatised (irrelevant in the UK).

Should try to convert this lean fitness into running fitness. Feel I have no speed tho, & won't regain it.....

Running 49:00 [3] 5.0 mi (9:48 / mi) +160m 8:55 / mi
shoes: Karrimor D30 Trail

Steady and enjoyable run with Simon, from his house in Honley. Legs working today :)

Then horrible drive down to Bristol (after nearly 6 weeks away) - the M6 from Manch to Brum is evil, and should be shot.

Home at last.

Cycling 55:00 [4] 9.0 mi (6:07 / mi)

Mountain bike ride with Charlie. No skill at all, tho lungs ok on the up hills - not surprisingly.

Easy 11 min jog at end to see if legs would work. They didnt'.

Running 1:15:00 [3] 13.0 km (5:46 / km) +284m 5:12 / km
shoes: Karrimor D30 Trail

Easy run with Helen on Ilkley moor - after 45 mins very slow as she wasn't up to it. Then I ran ahead flat out to get car (We were late). So last mile in 7:15-ish. That was hard - VERY!!!

Then some bouldering with family at a nearby gritstone crag - fun. With nieces.
