(injured) shoes: Mizuno Ovation

Run in park - 17 mins, felt OK, not much pain in left achilles, but "new" running style of forefoot strike led to left calf almost pulling near the end?Not convinced - seems to build up pain in the calf.... ho hum

Sport climbing in Gilwern hill, with Shaunagh - excellent day - 9 routes! 4+, 5,5+, 5+, 5+, 6a, 6a+ (sunbathed), 6a, 5.

Cycling 50:00 [4] 55.0 km (55 / km)

Mega Bristol to Bath cycle track day with Charlie - 17km in 80 mins -ish, then slowed down, took in Bath, pub lunch (sunny!), more pubs, finally home 5 hours later.Excellent day.

(injured) shoes: Mizuno Ovation

Cardio in gym again - not the same as running - boring. 20 mins x-trainer, 15 mins ascender, then 10 mins on weights to break it up (really feeling the burn - YAY!), then dismal 10 mins on silly x-c skier machine. PLus cycle from work & back. Did i mention? Woirk is insane now... full fucking on!

physio - good progress on achilles - can ease off slightly on the exercises & ice. discharged. Told to try a jog in a week or so? Yep OK then.

TCA + Sam - very hard session, knackered quite early. Proper TCA beasting - hands in pieces; did some good problems tho. Forced to go to pub after to numb the pain with beer. Hard life.

Walk in Wye valley to Devils Pulpit - 1 hour. Achilles a bit niggly - from walking with heavy packs on yesterday, and tip toe climbing? No biggie. Beautiful sunny srping day - wild garlic, bluebells - lovely

Trad climbing in wye valley + Steve - 5 routes, 1 HVS, 3 E1's, one E2. Led the HVS & an E1 that i do every year. Good! Then bbq & wine... camped over in Beeches farm

cycle to gym. Cardio workout - 15 mins on grim stair ascender, then 20 on cross trainer, then some weights (very few, to be fair), then 10 mins on some silly skiiing type machine. so 45 mins cardio, can't be bad. Not the same as running tho.... achilles not so sore this monring.

Surprise! Achilles vastly less sore first thing. This is a pleasant surprise, as they've been sore on first steps out of bed for ages. Since just after JK, really. Good. Now is not the time to start running, though. Band practice.

cycled to avon gorge, lovely evening. Bouldered at new quarry for over an hour. righ heel suddenly hurt - prob due to rock boots. replaced it with training shoe, & carried on. Cycle home. Tiring!
