Easy one to end another good week. Just jogging. Shitey mood though, footpaths are an absolute joke, wading through head high nettles and being charged by various herds of cows is not my idea of a pleasant Sunday afternoon.

Chilled pre breakfast 30. Stomach felt very full and was still a bit grumbly/tired. Really happy to have been selected for World Uni's, selection race performances weren't my finest but I'll be going in to it as fit as I've ever been and am looking forward to making amends for JWOC last year.

ShUOC hill session in Bingham. Not feeling 100% after post-exam celebrations yesterday so was a bit grindy. Moving ok off the front with Joe, alternating leads but began fading at the end, as expected after the last few weeks and days.
Session: 60s, 40s, 20s, 40s, 60s (x3), jog down inbetween.

Bamford Sheepdog Trials FR - 1st.

Never managed to get out for this one because of exams but only one to go on Wednesday so thought I'd take a nice revision break. Harry Holmes took it out hard as expected on the earlier flat bit but thought I may as well go with it to see what could happen, fully expecting him to peel away. Hit the climb only 3/4s back and just sat on him for a while. Could sense he was getting tired and I'd played it safe and power walked the steep sections, so took the lead. Continued to power walk the steep and put in a burst on any flats which worked well. Got a bit of a gap on the middle of the climb and tried to consolidate it with some more surges up the more runnable parts of the top of Win. Rounded the trig about 50m ahead and then just had to go for it on the descent without looking back. Nice and slightly surprised to take the win by 45s or so considering the shape Harry is in. Guts felt terrible off the top and held me back a bit on the descent and I think without this Stu's record may have been possible.
But regardless I enjoyed it and a good team result was also nice.
