Trundle before, frustrated after.
11 AM

Orienteering 53:11 [4] *** 12.53 km (4:15 / km) +100m 4:05 / km
spiked:27/28c shoes: New Balance m1080 v5 (green)

LEI Ashby Urban.
Set out wanting to push this one and was flying through to 8 where I made my only mistake, just crossed the junction and went off the map then making a parallel error off of it and binned 8 mins. Flogged myself after but could never catch it. Very annoyed, would have been good for rankings points, but a good run out other than that. So pissed off.

Note
(rest day)

Being on the safe side. Had a really cracking couple of weeks in scandi terrain but I need to still be safe with these injuries to make sure I make a proper recovery. Still felt tired today and it would have been an unnecessary risk so another day off can't hurt.
Training and racing over there was great and I've missed proper training so much. Technically I was generally very clean aside from the odd howler But I realised that I was having a lot of issues in the circle. My route would be good but I would make mistakes but having a poor entry or not really knowing what I was looking for. Definitely making a conscious effort to address this. feeling fit and happy at the minute though so time to build now and make the most of what's shaping up to be an awesome summer of training and racing.

Note
(rest day)

Traveled home from Sweden, delayed flight and crap traffic meant a long day and got in late. Wasn't going to train anyway.

Orienteering 30:00 [1] 2.0 km (15:00 / km) +40m 13:38 / km
shoes: Inov-8 Race Ultra 270

Had a day out in Stockholm with Skids and James as didn't want to risk the ankle in the morning but then decided I had to get out with the terrain being there so walked a course I planned on the local area. Actually interesting to micro analyse on the move.
5 PM

Orienteering 42:22 [1] 3.71 km (11:25 / km) +34m 10:55 / km
shoes: Inov-8 Race Ultra 270

Did the same for another course, yogged the odd big path section and was stiff but got no worse.

Orienteering 52:03 [3] 7.06 km (7:22 / km) +111m 6:50 / km
(injured) shoes: Inov-8 x-talon 212

Nice training with Matt and Paddy (who snerkled off early). Loved it and was flowing well and ticking off good routes until 17 when I went over on my ankle again and had to hobble frustrated back to the hut, wasn't sure at the time how bad it was, swelled up so wasn't optimistic.

Running 25:00 [1] 5.19 km (4:49 / km) +44m 4:37 / km
shoes: Inov-8 Race Ultra 270

Was going to sack training but had to get out after the boat. Easy round the lake, not actually feeling too bad, just a touch tired.
