Headed out on the fields.Difficult to get motivated and tough to keep going, feeling quite tired and heavy. Moved over the fields to Ashby then dropped to Stenborough then Dunton and home. Nice enough, bit overgrown, I'll decide on running tomorrow.

Nice potter around the Dunton route with Broughton extension. First time I've felt normal in a long while, legs moving fine if a few grumbles before hand. Nice day for it, breathing ok, feeling a little slow but I guess a lack of race practice is to blame. Plan before Cairngorm and the 6 days is to keep training steady with a few sessions thrown in, just beginning to build it back up.

Using HRM more to track training.

Late decision to go to outwoods. Decided before that racing before Scotland isn't a good idea, so just went out to get the controls but also my body's still not behaving well, legs tired and tight, although is getting better. Started well then a slip on 5. Cruised to 12 where I made a bit of a howler dropping time, then more on 13/14 through route and contact. Lost time on 15 because of undergrowth then took the rest of the course easy and spiked the rest. Most of the course was just a controlled pace but I was distracted by just generally feeling a bit crap, legs weak and stomach feeling unsettled. Pete smashed it in 30 odd but not really bothered about times, looking more about what I need to work on at cairngorm.

Wasn't sure what to run so headed out to the scout camp. Then went out to grolesworth with the option of fosse, decided against it because of illness so went home via the old railway. Legs are still feeling like they don't want to run. Very tired in my legs and they just feel quite dead, hopefully I'll kick this next few days.

Went out to see how I was. Feeling much better, throat still a little sore and a slight lingering cough but that's it. Setting off was really hard, illness and being fairly sedentary meant legs were really not up for this, they felt exceedingly tight, tired, heavy, just not like running legs at all. Did the shortened dunton loop, which was quite overgrown and the rain started as I went out. Loved being out of the house and moving, was also crippled by a stitch for the first 3k. Bit of a crap run but good to get out. Getting back on track, might go for the gym and another short run tomorrow.

Feel noticeably better, headache subsided as well as fever, but throat is really painful from all this coughing, which is still present. Better nights sleep but woke up twice absolutely drenched in sweat so still not great. I'll assess tomorrow and see if it's a good idea to run.
