Running (Warm down) 20:00 [1] 2.5 km (8:00 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 F-lite 230

Bit with drills before and then warm down with harrison.

Orienteering (Ashby De La Zouch Urban) 53:25 [4] 12.03 km (4:26 / km) +175m 4:08 / km
shoes: Inov-8 F-lite 230

LEI EMOA League Ashby MO: 8.5km 26 controls 175m

So my plan for this was to focus on navigation, because I didn't know what physical shape I would be in. Started well, nailed the first 3 or 4 and just felt really really settled. This was much the same for the rest of the course, orienteering fairly well, a little cautious at times as I haven't orienteered for a while, let alone an urban (last was probably oxford). I did begin to tire around the 8k mark but finished strongly. Average moving pace was normally below 4 mi k's which is positive, but could do with a bit better flow and lost a decent bit on crossing roads with a fair bit of traffic. Physically I need to get a bit more distance in my legs but a good run, couple of slips but generally going well. Update after results.

Running (Wehey) 47:25 [3] 10.36 km (4:35 / km) +80m 4:24 / km
shoes: Inov-8 x-talon 212

Aaaand I'm back! Exams all done yesterday, had a night off yesterday and went out with some friends for a wind down. Steady up to Ashby Parva then across to sandpits then Dunton, Broughton Meadows and home. Felt reasonable if tired towards the end. Thank god I can now train. Basically, I have missed every goal I had this year, so it's been a write off, EYOC/JWOC, Gothenburg and JEC so basically, the Scottish is now my only aim. But having had a chat to Paul earlier, I realised that this year is basically done, so now my aim is not competitions, but personal advancement, so I'm looking forward to the next few months. I think exams went ok so I'm just able to chill for a bit now.
