Cross Training (Road Bike) 1:34:36 [3] 45.41 km (2:05 / km) +360m 2:00 / km

Lovely Sunday for it and as I'm having a weekend off from orienteering I thought I'd go for a ride. Decent route, won't go in to detail but decent length and decent climb. Garmin was messing about with laps but distance is right.

Last interland selection next weekend then british schools i think the week after. Then a break until early next year as i think i need a bit of a 'detox' and just try and forget all the bad habits and start again next year. More or less just endurance until then.

Running (Long run) 1:35:24 [3] 20.03 km (4:46 / km) +250m 4:29 / km
shoes: Inov-8 x-talon 190

Seeing as it was one of my rare saturday's off, I took full advantage and went for a long run. Went for the long dunton route, more pleasant than i remember and may head out to it more. Then quick stop at home to pick up my headtorch as wouldn't make it back in the light otherwise. Then headed for the ullesthorpe run with a short extension up to ashby and down to leire on the roads. Really enjoyed this run, just settled in a switched off and made my way round. Not much going on next week, except a school trip to bradgate park to get some quality hills in.
Also, have now quite sunday league football sadly, as i just don't have the time to commit to it. However have started a 5 a side team with a few of the lads from school so absolutely buzzing for that. Team name...Spartak Tesco!

Running (Ullesthorpe run) 43:10 [3] 8.89 km (4:51 / km) +98m 4:36 / km
shoes: Inov-8 x-talon 212

Still breaking in my shoes a bit so a smidge of an ache on the outsides of my midsole. Bit of an eerie run, headtorch on my own which normally is fine, but was hearing some odd noises and didn't see a single other person. Bit of a chill in the air so went with my jacket and ended up too hot, touch of rain as well. Felt good today, never really pushing my breathing rate at all, just getting back in to running with my headtorch. Not sure what my plan is for the weekend, harriers tomorrow, but not heading down for the Classic annoyingly so might see if there's a local event on or if not, will probably go for a long ride.

Standard school cross country fartlek session, hadn't had a good couple of days, so pushed ahead at the start and ran on my own. Good session, really dug in for it and felt the benefits, work later.

First headtorch run of this winter season. Went with Harriet for a pretty steady trot around the short Dunton run. Pleasant run, decent conversation which was weird with the sister. Nice run.

Note

No time to update last week, school work and job got in the way. Essentially clocked up 40km with 900m climbs (including saturday's o-race). Also won saturday's race so that's 2 wins out of a possible 3 races so far for interland, looking good so far.
4 PM

Running (Road) 24:32 [3] 5.61 km (4:22 / km) +78m 4:05 / km
shoes: Adidas Response Cushion 19

Pretty decent trot around the roads, feeling pretty good.
