Orienteering (OK Nuts) 50:24 [4] *** 8.5 km (5:56 / km) +75m 5:41 / km
spiked:16/21c shoes: inov8 oroc 280

Started badly losing a good minute and a half on 1 then 2 and 3 were steady with maybe a bad route choice on 3, came out the wrong to 4 and lost some time. 5 was fine but didn't have enough of a plan on 6 so lost a little more time then up to 10 (timed out road crossing) was fine except for 9 where i was helped by another runner ( a man from BAOC M45/50 I'd say, so thank you) to it lost probably 1-2 minutes. Took a bit of time on the road crossing then was fine up until 15 where i was too high and lost another 2 mins or so. 16 was fine then i think 17 was in the wrong place so lost 1-1:30 minutes or so. 18 took a dodgy route getting through some green so was a little slow, then got a tree through my thigh going to 19 but was fine navigating. Was again a little high on number 20 but after that to the finish it was fine. The run was riddled with mistakes so finished a good 6 minutes behind the winners so was disappointed especially as it was a selection.

1 PM

Orienteering (Emjos training leith hill) 1:45:00 [3] 14.32 km (7:20 / km)
spiked:24/24c shoes: inov8 oroc 280

Good training session out with the squad, hung controls a the start (5) as a warm up, did a long routes without paths which was fun and was fairly good on my bearings going straight. Then a corridors exercise where i hit my bad knee on a treee stump so had to take it a bit steadier but was solid again on navigating. Finished off with a quick burn around a control pick again pretty solid. Then collected 3 far controls and back along the road to the buses. Was good on navigating and worked on reading map at speed which didn't work badly and was pretty rough terrain.
6 PM

Orienteering race (Southern night champs) 1:06:29 [4] 8.0 km (8:19 / km) +100m 7:49 / km
spiked:16/19c shoes: inov8 oroc 280

Really poor race, mistakes from the start and slow, was cold wet and hungry and not in the right mind set for it, still a nice area
