Calf was Ok and felt like I was running hard.
Numerous mistakes at least 10 errors in first 20 controls.
On way to #21 left hamstring went ping so slowed to a jog, lost where I was on map, panicked, went to #27 by mistake and proceeded on to #28, realised I had missed one out (#26), thought sod that I am not going back for it and ran into finish. Only then did I realize I had actually missed #21-26 (about a quarter of the course distance!).
Probably a good job as left hamstring is badly buggered so cutting the course short was a blessing in disguise.
Was a few seconds ahead of Charlotte Ward at #20. Shame I fell apart as that would have been a nice scalp to take at the end of the year.
2018: started the year by missing a control at a sprint in Bradford, finished the year by missing 6 controls in York.
Heat and tennis ball on hamstring, but can hardly walk. Pooh!
