Sprint event at Latrobe Uni where I had not been before. Made more fun with a two level section. Did the long course of 3.9kms - Happy with run with just a few seconds lost on 15 which was (hidden) in a drain I was standing near.

Did the capital city trail (with Liz) with quite a lot of stop starts to make sure we were on the right route - some parts of this bike path are very nice and there is a lot of variety from big city scenes to nice river views to nice coffee shops.

Wednesday Mar 6, 2019 #

6 AM

Early morning start with the strength exercises - a lot of work on the glutes today - plus some balance and the usual dance steps which I am getting better at.
9 AM

ride with Peter 1:50:00 [3] 39.0 km (2:49 / km) +350m 2:42 / km

Delayed the usual Wednesday hit out until the rain had passed - rode a short distance then hid under the Tuggeranong underpass as a shower went thru - then it got worse soon after heading off so pretty wet by the time we reach the coffee shop when it really poured both rain and coffee - had 2 coffees trying to wait out the rain - break in the weather allowed an exit from 38 but soon after more driving rain so hid behind the a building for a while before restarting - by the time I got home it had stopped raining! Lots of water in the paths but fortunately I had both a rain jacket and 3/4 rain pants so my butt was dry. Shoes soaked tho. Peleton of 5 but lost one on the way as he bailed out due to the rain - he did beat me on the hill sprint tho so may have only come on the ride to get the glory of a win!.

Back to running with Grant on his return from a kiwi holiday (and a 100 km race). Run today was in the deep south at Tuggeranong and went alongside part of the Murrumbidgee River. Up real close to a wombat and plenty of roos. Out and back run and finished with a fast pace. Bit humid so quite sweaty. However, felt much better on the hills today so having a rest from running for a few days has helped. Coffee with the grannies at Brew Bar afterwards.

MTBO race at Sparrow - did the long course so did not push too hard - lost about 3 minutes on one control thru missing a turn off - otherwise map reading was good. Blackberries growing over some of the fire trails made life interesting but did not get a flat. Ended up where i expected in the field.
