Gentle out and back recovery ride with Liz to the cafe at the Botanical Gardens on a sunny spring day with NO wind! What a contrast to the last 2 days. Lots of bikes out on the bike paths around LBG - being a public holiday. Used the MTB. Toe was ok with cycling but not surprisingly still sore to walk on.

Oz relay champs - teamed up with GrantM and Phil W in M55. Despite me being the slowest of the team we got 3rd place. Tough first leg - long with climb and non trivial navigation at the end. But nailed it! Garmin not turned on but by Richard's watch we did an extra km over the listed distance. Nice way to finish off the carnival.
Post race nursing a sore toe (next to the big toe) after stubbing it or probably rolling it under the foot a bit - hurt it when I fell on the way between control 5 and 6. Lucky I did not do this at the start of the carnival as once I got home realised I could not have ran on it the next day. Applied ice to reduce swelling in the joint and bruising on the top of the toe.

Event: Australian Middle Distance/Relay Championships
 

Break through in M60A class with a 3rd place at the Australian Middle Distance Champs at the "Gib". Spiked all controls in a large granite covered hill area and did not go too hard until the last few controls in the more open farmland area at the edge of the hill. Distance on map was listed as 2.6 km with 90 metres of climb.

Oz Middle Course 6 - Splits

We were joined with Richard and Nicole for a ride around the west and central basins of LBG - lovely still and sunny day - tried out another coffee shop at Yarralumbla - the Farmers Daughter - but consensus was that the coffee did not pass muster.
