Hiked part way up Near Point with Dan. Achey left hip on the way up, and various aches and pains on the way down. Maybe related to strength workout earlier in the day? Or maybe just not exercising enough in the past 2 months. And didn't feel chipper once we started the steep part. Turned around at the second-to-last alder patch.

I enrolled in the company's new Vitality program that will reward me with a little health insurance discount if I meet some health goals, for which I must disclose all sorts of personal info. But reading all the website material did motivate me out the door, so I guess the program's already successful. I have to download heart-rate monitored activity to Garmin Connect and give the program access to tap into that data. So, I took a little trot. The hip didn't feel great, but it also didn't feel as tho I was doing it harm. And I actually felt pretty decent trotting. Outran the mozzies.

Max heart rate's bogus; I barely broke a sweat. Same walk as yesterday but slower as I went with Dan and he carries a pack with some weight in it. Almost windy enough to keep the mosquitos off. I'm really enjoying following the juniors at JWOC. What a great experience.

Up panorama and denali view trails to white spruce, back down the gas line. Felt blah so it took me a good hour to get out the door, but I did it. The flowers are beautiful.
