I've deemed myself officially injured. The massage/rolfing didn't yet cure my stiff and achey hip. I'd signed up for the company team for the 5-mile 7,000-female Run for Women - thinking it would be a good annual benchmark of my running fitness. (I did it last year as my first road race in 25+ years about twomonths into trying to get back into running. 55:07 with calf cramps leftover from the Western Mass 5-day, and had to walk some of it.) Trotted down to the venue this morning for the group photo, then bailed back to the office to make up the time I spent yesterday trying to produce an O-like map for use with the Girl Scouts this afternoon. That effort required a fair amount of brain power to find and load some images into GIS so I could figure out the scale of the sketch map I was given, check the declination, figure out how to work in Acrobat-type software to change the scale of the map image I had and to rotate it (which direction???), add blue lines 250 m apart, add a scale and N arrow, and get it to print at a 1:4000 scale. Took 2 hours! But looked pretty good. Sure hope I rotated it the right way or it will be 36 degrees off. They probably still won't notice.
