At JBER, very technical terrain. Couldn't read map very well, and trouble relating it to the land but succeeded slowly 'til 6. Botched #6, then super-botched #7, traversing blowdown twice. Finally relocated to find #7 but impaled my shin first and used the bloody wound as an excuse to quit.

54 min to turnoff, 30 to spur, 15 to top, 1:20 down. Not incl phone call, pause on top, litter picking. Perfect day. Passed on steepest section by a guy my age *running* up the mtn. Impressive.

I *think* I got my back left rib to flop back into place with some persuasion by a tennis ball (AND the fact that I made an appt with a PT to work on it next week). I'm remarkably excited about the prospect of losing the pain.

Note

Just entered into a pact with my mother re: strength training. For me, that means 2.5 hours/week through at least July. I expect shoulders, guts, hips, non-reclining yoga.

Maybe 1:41 to the top? Time doesn't include 13 min on top. Perfect day; very breezy on top. Felt pretty decent. Didn't push, but still did this relatively quickly, maybe because it wasn't too warm.
