Time and distance are ??? since my Garmin is 'resting'. Arrived a bit late to start the Tuesday night series run, but found the munchkin league on the trails, so joined them. But I kept tripping over them so headed off on my own to explore the single-tracks. It was fun to try to figure out where I was as the trails twisted around between ski trails I'm more familiar with. Enjoyed the quiet thinking time and beautiful golden forest.

Nominal 4.2 km. Last meet of the year. Perfect day. Great vegetation (for us). I actually trotted most of it and felt good; I felt esp energized when trying to shake someone behind me. Controls were on the easier side. I'm pleased with my route choices. Only one substantial mistake; < 2 min. Garmin completely dead this morning (prob the result of bad-mouthing it yesterday) so distance is an estimate.

Felt OK. Not my fastest ascent. Beautiful fall colors on Near Point, with bright new snow above rich red bearberry and yellow dwarf willows. A little slick coming down the first 1/4 mile in the snow. I had to keep adjusting layers going up and down to address sweat, cold, a breeze, and sun. Quite bundled up as I passed a couple high schoolers in shorts and tee shirts building a snowman near the top (warmed by lust).
I'm tiring of my FR 210, which has now decided to connect to my laptop only under conditions it won't reveal to me. That, its super-slow satellite gathering, crummy battery life, and lousy 5-pronged connection mechanism add up to customer dissatisfaction.

Floated the idea by my supervisor of taking another couple weeks off in Oct for combo mother/orienteering trip Back East since I'm light on work. Decision in a week or so.

Lots of fun. I had trouble both keeping track of where I was and looking ahead to be sure I was still on the right route. Finished about 89% down the pack.
