Div-2 Pennant GF at Thornleigh

Unbelievable team win by 1-point on a count back!

I played first and disappointingly went down 3-1 to reserve RJ (250). Got the first game but then dropped off badly. Played too many safe cross courts from the front and got chopped by attacking boasts. Lots to work on over summer.

Manav was up 2-0 vs BS but he got tired and lost the next 2 games. He was up again 14-10 in the decider but lost the last 6 points.

Was looking to be a shocking end to the season with Krishna all at sea losing his first 2 games 15-5 & 15-6 to JH. But then he flicked the switch - found his length for a remarkable comeback 3-2.

The pressure was on Stan to win 3-0 or 3-1 (+15 points) vs DO. He was clinical taking the first 2 games and was looking strong in the 3rd before a slight fade at the end. Stan needed to win the 4th game at least 15-8 and (just) pulled it off!

The best team win I've been a part of and the best team. Having Keelan at no.1 obviously made things a lot easier in the home & away rounds as he guaranteed us 1 rubber every time he played. Krishna & Stan have had many heartbreaking seasons in Div-2 so for them to step up under pressure and get us over the line was huge. It was also Manav's first Pennant win. Credit to Thornleigh for pushing us to the brink and nearly spoiling our undefeated season.

SSS #9 at Longueville

Nice hilly course with a tricky 6 control sprint around Butcher's Block Point. Lost a minute or so at 29 & 20 where I found it difficult to read the detail in the dark bush. Otherwise had a nice smooth run.

Chose a good route: 1-21-11-2-4-3-5-6-7-8-30-12-24-14-25-13-29-20-19-26-23-16-22-17-27-18-9-10. Skipped 15 - but could've gone for it and been a minute late for a net 10 point gain.

Scored 580, equal first with Glenn. Aurelien & Richard 570, James 560 and Toby running strongly for 550.

3 light games with Stan followed by some tune-up volley & drop drills.
Both of us are feeling confident and well prepared for the big GF.

WSSS at Castle Hill (Fred Caterson Reserve)

Nice bushy course with lots of controls just off tracks and plenty of overall route options. Should've skipped 24 & 6 in the far north as originally planned as they took 6 mins.

Went 20-30-10-21-1-11-22-12-2-15-5-23-3-13-4-14-24-6-18-26-27-17-29-28-25-19-16-8. Skipped 9 and stupidly run past 12 without punching it.

Scored 570, 7mins late = 500. James 530, Aurelien 520, Jem 510.
