Xmas Day 2 - Cockatoo Island Sprint

Great fun running around Cockatoo Island. Took it much slower today and was cleaner except for another big stuff up mispunching #23. Lost concentration after going past the download area and then not sure what happened... Must’ve overrun 23 and punched another control and then got totally disorientated going to 24. Walked around in circles in the sheds for a couple of minutes before eventually finding contact with the map again.

Disappointing results over the weekend but really enjoyed both sprint courses. Looking forward to doing more line courses / Sprints this summer now they're scheduled on Sunday evenings.

Xmas 5 days - Day 1
Long Sprint at Georges Heights

Very rusty… Didn’t read the map closely enough particularly early around the tricky buildings. First big blunder was going from 1 to 24 (didn’t see the 4 digit at first glance) and lost a minute. Picked a bad line through the white heading towards 3. Mp’d 6 - punched another control on the fence corner 30m to the east. Should've checked the control number. Another shocker overrunning 11 - probably the easiest leg. I eventually settled down and had a pretty good second half with no major mistakes.

SSS at Mosman Bay

Plenty of route options again today with the 600 scorers each going slightly different ways. Probably didn’t pick the best route but had a good run with only a couple of errors at the tricky paths around 23 (1min) & 29 (30secs).

Started with 5-18-20 then up to the streets for 8-28-19 & 3. Then back down and around the Cremorne Point paths via 23-14-22-13-16. Then up to 1-27-15. Planned to skip 4 but was going ok for time so went from 15 back down to 4. Most of the others picked up 4 after 18 which was significantly shorter but a slower climb up the steps. Was clean street running through 25-30-6-7-24-11-26 and 17. Then across the footbridge for 10. A long stretch from 12 to 29 and finished with 2-21-9.

Got the lot in 46:12 = net 580. Andy 600, Richard 590, Glenn, Alex & James 580.
