Orienteering (Foxes Lair Anytime) 2:34:55 [2] 9.54 km (16:15 / km) +64m 15:43 / km
shoes: Giant Anthem 2 XL 2019

Initial control site check for a proposed Anytime Orienteering course at Foxes Lair. Lovely spot with lots of opportunities for less than hard courses by way of introduction to the sport. Proposed control sites checked out well and I logged the "control position" ie the nearest suitable tree for each. Did a bit of rating of tracks as part of a proposed MTBO version of Noel's map as well.

Cycling (FROGs ride sort of) 1:30:57 [2] 21.77 km (4:11 / km) +87m 4:06 / km
shoes: Giant Anthem 2 XL 2019

A variation on the planned ride from Burswood to Tranby and return. I had to exit early so started at Tranby but got to Claisebrook well ahead of schedule, so had a detour through the station and the education precinct. Still hit Burswood early, and got cold waiting for the stragglers, but the ride back was mostly wind assisted and quite pleasant.

Cycling (MBT Redwell to Gleneagle) 1:50:00 [2] 14.15 km (7:46 / km)
shoes: Giant Anthem 2 XL 2019

Second part of recce on the MBT south of Brookton Hwy. Mostly pleasant ride - section of downhill into the Canning River valley was badly rutted and the ride out of the valley was a bit of a slog, even tho' it was on Kinsella Road. Further progress with the Garmin - managed to chop up DBCA's gpx of the MBT into useable sections, with assistance from the inhouse spatial consultant, and then upload it the device. Followed it today and it was quite helpful in places. Now I have to work out how to do that and get it to log my ride at the same time.

Cycling (MBT return on Kinsella Rd) 43:01 [2] 10.79 km (3:59 / km) +137m 3:45 / km
shoes: Giant Anthem 2 XL 2019

First half from Gleneagle to the Canning River was fairly flat and then downhill - fairly flew along (max 38.7!). Second half out of valley back to my car was another uphill slog - you get that with rivers :-)

Cycling (MTBO Long SIAC activation) 1:16:51 [2] 10.9 km (7:03 / km) +163m 6:34 / km
shoes: Giant Anthem 2 XL 2019

Early start to fire up the bricks on the west side of Scarp Rd - Duncan did all those to the east, mostly from his car. Joined the elite (ie tRicky) when my map board fell apart half way around.

Cycling (MTBO Long control collect) 1:04:02 [2] 7.17 km (8:56 / km) +148m 8:06 / km
shoes: Giant Anthem 2 XL 2019

Not surprised to find no-one wanted to collect the controls on the rough bit of single track to the east so went out for a spin myself. Reversed the route I took when tape checking, starting at Hatch / Scarp junction and going anti clockwise. Was focused on the single track and didn't think about the long pull up Deer Rd on the way back - finished me off for the weekend.
