The annual Lifecycle night practice ride, starting at Darlington tennis club and looping around the Heritage Trail, with a stop for pizzas in Mundaring. Beautiful evening for a ride and I could see forever with Juffy's lights on board. All was going well until a rider popped a tyre just before Stoneville. I was in the group just ahead and we waited at Stoneville Rd for a long time in case I had to call up Sue and the cruiser for a retrieval. Eventually made phone contact - after attempts to repair the tubeless tyre failed, the group with the broken bike had inserted a tube and they were mobile and taking a short cut to Mundaring. The prospect of cold pizzas meant we also abandoned the rest of the trail and headed UP Stoneville Rd to Mundaring - far and away the steepest, longest hill I've ever ridden up. I bailed at Mundaring so we could pick up the MetrO Bayswater cards and maps from Wests - such a busy life :-)

An excellent day for a bike ride. After everyone had recovered from the trauma of starting somewhere new (well, newish - we'd ridden through Hardey / Adachi Park a squillion times but Mike boldly suggested we use it as the start/finish - quelle horreur!). Across the Garrett Road bridge and down the river to Bayside Kitchen via EQ for a loooong morning tea, then back via South Perth and Burswood. Lots of freshers frolicking at Matilda Bay - many of us trying to remember what it was like in our day - don't recall it being that organised in 1967. Great ride, thanks Mike.
