First race of the season - LOK district event at Hampstead Heath. I ran Brown, along with Simon, Jon M and Pete, all of whom narrowly beat me. It was a very hot day and the course was tiring - particularly the fast, open legs across Parliament Hill near the end.

My significant mistakes were all at the beginning of this 23 control course - at No. 2, No. 3 and No.4 - a technical area with short, intricate legs, and this was my first race for several weeks so I was rusty technically as well as physically. But I finished 8th out of 35 finishers, which was much better than expected.

1 - Clive Parry (EPOC) 53:04
5 - Jon M 65:15
6 - Pete H 67:10
7 - Simon E 68:26
8 - Me 69:44
23 - Pete M 83:29
26 - Tony 86:36
