Had no idea this was on but yesterday parents said they wanted to do it so I tagged along. I was at an urban event here in 2013 so I knew what to expect. Unfortunately I was clearly concentrating more then than I did today as I made multiple small but some stupid errors and one very poor route choice where i didn't notice a gate. Mistake alone at #27 cost me 2nd, Rigby too far ahead to worry about the win.

Time losses (2:25):
#3 15s Ran past it as it was sneakily hidden in a bush. I was not the only one who missed it.
#6 10s Should have contoured as ended too high
#12 25s Same mistake twice. Ran past junction that i needed to take
#23 15s Turned up the alleyway too early
#27~80s Picked wrong routechoice and binned 47s looking for it

Pre-breakie run doing the loop I first did when up here visiting Parents. Jogging up from the far road I came across a scared juvenile stag which, while running away, kept trying to escape into the woods but ending up jumping into a 6ft high wire fence bordering the road.

Went into it thinking I would crush it and possibly clear them if time allowed. Comparing to last time I was running faster but it wasn't to be.

Firstly i made a poor decision trying to cut across a field when i knew full well it had a uncrossable hedge so had to run 260m further binning 50s. I made up a bit of time by crossing a different field earlier but once i got to the abbey the gate was closed and working it out i did 130m further to the next control wasting 30s. It could be possible for me to get them all...it will be tight though, and do it before 6pm when they close the gate.

Woke up early so headed out for an easy 45 mins to split up the long run today. Did 1 1/2 laps of parkrun then round the flood plain. Had a stand off with a cow at the end and the cow won.

A bit cooler but still no need for a wetsuit. I fell my stroke is getting worse after over a month of not doing a pool swim but i'm enjoying not getting up at 5:30 at the moment. Lots of kids at the lake doing holiday course in pedalos and rafts, which meant there was a lot of mud / grain in the water which wasn't as nice.

Didn't feel as bad this week in the tri suit but also didn't push as hard so nothing leant and very little gained anyway. Went along as its just nice than doing a solo session. Bike has a broken spoke so didn't want to cycle there or do a TT.

Circuits at Cheltenham College

1st time in ages that this has been on as they struggled to get a new guy to run it but in stepped a 20 yr old lad who did a good job.

(15 x 40s) + (15 x 45s) + (15 x 35s) + (5 x 30s)

This week was particularly tough so I expect him to dial it down in the future with more static exercises
