Running 1:45:00 [3] 20.0 km (5:15 / km)
shoes: crosslites III
Sulphur springs preview with a big crowd including a few AP/AR types I rarely get to run with. Tough course, but the running was only one dimension of the challenge that lay before us.
It was a spirited contribution from the four legged contingent what with Bent doing the road runner speedy feet thing behind cerberus for the first hour but instead of saying 'meep meep; he yelled 'whoa' and 'STOP' and 'HEY!!!' . Then there was trixie punching waaay above her weight spooking a horse and, undoubtedly, reaping some choice praise for that. Greta sensibly stayed home and Kona and Bunk just had their hair did and couldn't risk any more trips into the streams so they went stroight on home.
Speaking of going stroight when you might have gone roight, an honourable mention to Turbo who is quick these days. Good thing, too, since it took him exactly 8 minutes and 30 seconds to try to take a wrong turn. I'm not gonna say I told you so since it was written down in these very pages not so long ago and all ya'll can do the research yourselves.
But we persisted. And we prevailed, and I understand that beers were drank and chocolate was eaten and hilarious accent jokes were made and it was good. And so, I hereby predict the smashing of that record, despite my contribution - my faith is that unshakeable in this motliest of crews.
