Fell Race (Middletown Hill Race) 22:12 [3] 2.8 km (7:56 / km) +442m 4:26 / km

Was well nervous before the start of this vertiginous race. Nice chatty start up the first field, 2nd to the top behind Daniel Maskew, 1st to the bottom of the first descent. Was not expecting the second climb and descent - was expecting it to be a traverse. Got gained on a little by Jack Agnew on the up but he seem to disappear on the down. Ran most of the last climb but could have pushed harder. First few meters of the final descent were tough but got into it okay. Intense.

Nice forest of course but pretty lackluster planning :-( Often faster routes round the paths but towards the end just started going straight through to get some terrain running.

Didn't feel 70 mins! Hatton Bottom Lock to Shrewley Tunnel and back with a loop at the top.
