Orienteering race (Br Relays Cannop Ponds) 37:57 [3] 7.0 km (5:25 / km)

BOK Mens Premier Team 2 with Agmen and Burley. Setting out just behind Whipple (UBOC) and Bray (SOC). Sort of felt in the pen that I could put in a better performance today. So tried quite hard from the off. Some wobbles but generally some consistant orienteering. Still a coupleof minutes down on GG and Aiden...

Note

Meant to go for an evening run but didn't.

Orienteering (Br Long Brierley New Bee.) 1:10:00 [3] 16.4 km (4:16 / km)

Brrrr. Reallt struggled to sustain any fast orienteering. Caught Ben Stevens as we both faffed at 6. Then some nice casual racing with Ben and Adam Potter and Chris Galloway on M20. Tried to go faster from 18 but got annoyed with my routechoice to 20 and the map. Got overtaken by Carrie Beadle at one point. Then just even slower, less concentration and more mistakes.

Running 1:10:00 [3]

So I thought I'd go for a run on the Wrekin. Following some diagonal paths I'd not been on before and which turned out to look like some of the most beautiful mtb trails. Up that to the top. Some drills in the little col thing to the south then dropped of through the west open bracken (twisting L ankle) to the bottom tracks. Some intrusive bike trails/jumps have been cut in the braken which are very much not inkeeping with the terrain, almost worth demolishing. And some serious track improvements have been made on the west side, which I assume means some impending forest destruction :-(. Round the bottom and the easiest tracks up the south ridge. Back to Forest Glen hoping the descent would put some sustained speed in my legs. Felt alright running to Tesco later. Wrekin Streak fell race next Wednesday. Met a local guy doing 6 reps training for an early July Bob Graham.

Running (Telford AC) 22:00 [3]

5*3mins, 7mins tempo. Legs felt full of gunk. Definitely the slowest laps we've run. Barely got over 930 most of the time, manged on ~970, I think. Tempo was a difficult jog. Maybe the JK has hit me.

Running (Easy run round Coventry) 1:10:00 [3]

Round to the far side of the city centre where I'd never been before. More weirdness. Tried to do some strides in the triangle park on the way out but they didn't work very well. Serious lack of sustained speed.
