Cycle (Blubberhouses to Gargrave) 45:00 [3] 24.0 km (1:53 / km) +162m 1:49 / km

Dropped off by mum who caught me up. Ridiculously windy.

Fell Race (Gargrave Show) 24:00 [3] 5.3 km (4:32 / km) +275m 3:36 / km

Got there not long before the start. Got onto the front guy who felt slow but he quickly accelerated away though I crossed the stream a bit faster. Caught by a few guys behind but always managed to keep ahead until the steeper open bit before the top when a Leeds City guy came past pretty quick. Sort of didn't care for some reason. Did actually lose quite a bit of ground to him (and presumably the leader too). Turned at the top and got him back fairly early. Down the woods dodging runners, skipped the shortcut, jumped over logs and fences for watching kids, then got my shoe stuck in one of the rough field's muddy patches. Thought about leaving it, thought it would be a long way back to pick up, picked it up; thought about putting it on, clearly too difficult, so just had to run with it to the finish. Had enough of a gap and pushed at a decent pace for 2nd.

Need to get used to pushing hard as I approach the top as that's the end of the real effort.

Up via Kelston Round Hill to Prospect Stile, left along the top to do a loop down and back from a little village. Back to PS down a bit, left a bit, turn around and back up, and back the way I came from the start with an extension in to some cow fields on the Cotswold Way that didn't go to plan. Felt okay.
