Orienteering (BUCS Relay - Danefield) 33:51 [3]

Did what I needed to do for myself and the team (like 7 years earlier!). Little bit rushed and over-excited to my first control but got there nicely. Was 4th along the track with Pete B breathing down my neck and Malley then Ben/Elkington ahead. Slowly closing and punched 3 with Ben and Matt. Then overtook and lead round 5-6-7 but not getting away as much as I'd like. Came together at 8 following Ben in with Matt and Pete just behind. Navigated fine to my nine but then misread my descriptions upside down and ran off to their control before checking them properly and returning to mine and losing a decent distance. Could just see Peter to 10 but not 11. Saw no-one till Ben and Matt up the hill to 16 (with Tom F behind) and then Pete came charging to that one from a weird direction. Got nice gaffle to 17 meaning I just had to overtake Ben and keep ahead of Matt on the run-in. Felt well good coming in to send Kit off in a decent position. He had a steady run racing Willy for a bit (but should slow down through the boulders!) then Matt had a stormer to keep ahead of a strong chasing train and bringing in a as-good-as-we-could-have-hoped-for fourth place :-D. Really really good weekend, would have been nice if Bristol had got 5th overall to top things off.

Orienteering (BUCS Individual - Ilkley) 1:13:00 [3]

Like all this week just felt exhausted all the way. Not really any mistakes but not really any pace. Felt like 85 but was satisfied to get 73. Turned out to be ten minutes down and 10th place but two and a bit minutes quicker would have been fourth.

To Ashton Court cafe to get Abi's bike. Via the observatory cliff viewpoint. Feeling very dead and arm wasn't great.

Trains in Ashton Court, still just feeling naff. Nice session though.

Decked it hard and winded myself early on. Thursday my arm hurt really bad any time I tried to lift it, went to the hospital to see what they said (where I also saw Graham) but was told it was probably muscle and just to man up.

Not a great performance. Set off fast and just got slower. 2*2min, 3*4min, 2*2min, 6*20s. Will skip XC circuits.

Sort of wanted to go for a run as yesterday wasn't ever so much but decided to try and not get injured instead.

Running (UBOC Monday Night Run) 40:00 [3] 8.6 km (4:39 / km) +100m 4:24 / km

Nice route over to St. Andrew's via Redland Park and the Tyne Path. Then scooped round Gloucester Road and Jamaica St to pass the hospitals and onto Whiteladies (and every other road name change) at a higher pace > The Alma Tavern pub quiz (3rd/15).
