Hmm okay. Poor compass towards platforms on vague slopes, maybe reading the map too much but poorly! Never felt like I could push it.

Welsh Junior Squad Training

Warm up control pick; not thoroughly planning enough
Map mem with Adam; Pretty good but need to remember the middle of the leg better
Windows; Usually pretty good but drifted right a lot.

Orienteering (Peg Relay) 28:25 [4] 4.85 km (5:52 / km) +161m 5:02 / km

Just managed to get all the pegs. Tried going straight a bit too much when going round would have been a similar speed with more chance to read the map. Should have gone straight to 7 though where Sander and a fast Ben Mitchell got away.

Hard to the middle of Clifton via Brighton Mews and the Lido.

Orienteering 25:00 [3]

3 short sprint courses round South Clifton and Cliftonwood. Quite hilly.

Focusing on reading the map and keeping a consistent hard pace.

Up for organising some training here in the week before the JK. Hopefully including some micrO too.

Running intervals (Bristol & West intervals) 13:59 [4] 4.8 km (2:55 / km)

Went down to Whitehall track for the first time. Second ever session on a track, was quite looking forward to it but was a li'l bit unsure of myself at the start. Think the darkness helped it not feel so bad.

A small group but wasn't the slowest and had a couple of people (incl. a damn fast girl) just in front to try and stay with if I wanted.

Classic 12*400m off a minute. Was much better than expected and very pleased with the consistency. Definitely have a lot lot more oomph than last week, think the weekend did me good. All 69-71 with a 68 to finish.
