Orienteering (CSC Quali Agglestone East) 1:00:46 [3] 10.0 km (6:05 / km) +200m 5:31 / km

There was a lot of chat after about the shocking state of the map, found myself stopping several times in disbelief. Anyone who didn't go straight from 8-9 missed some crackers!

Was going alright to 1 although things felt a little weird, could see 2 from 1 pretty much so didn't have much hope for the course from then on. The map only got worse. #4 (map and leg) was just the nail in the coffin. Couldn't really get a rhythm going but was alright-ish 9 through 13 (where there weren't that many features for the mapper to get wrong) and 17 to the finish (where the hills were bigger and more simple).

Area has lots of potential though if they did start over.

Actually really enjoyed it despite the skepticism. Missed the Parkrun so was a nice stand in. A little rough on my height into 1, maybe should have put more effort into looking for the small marsh. Reading the map and dropping into 2 early would have been faster. Wasn't much to go off for six but should have used the path for longer and looked ahead for the re-entrant to point me in. 7 Didn't concentrate enough to count the thickets (assuming they were right). 11 should have remembered green hash on BOK maps is rarely there and bearinged straight though. Sub 25 would have been pushing it. Went up Beacon Batch after.

8*hills on Parry's Lane, c.80s. Left the lab too late to make it to Keith's track session so did hills instead, haven't done any since last summer so maybe a good option. Sped up through them and held on well.

Early morning at the gym. Been meaning to go since the beginning of term and finally made it. The first few exercises were tough but by the second set was comfortable and was able to put more effort into the running part.

45 controls zig-zagging in and out of the trees.

Running (Bristol & West intervals) 24:00 [3]

2*2min, 4*4mins, 2*2mins. Went in Keith's faster group for the first time in a while. Fairly decent. Was scared of struggling to finish the session properly but held on well and got my best positions in the later reps. Some fast girlies.

Made it on time to do a real warm-up!

Looped through Redland Green Park, across the Downs round the Zoo to The Vittoria on Whiteladies. Good cheap food.
