Orienteering (Stoke Gifford Urban Serie) 39:03 [3] 6.4 km (6:06 / km) +40m 5:55 / km
Good little event. Very wet and cold beforehand though.
Set off a bit tight in orienteering 3/4ers but gradually loosened up. Was pretty good at picking the right lines but sometimes taking a while over it (esp on 11). All of it was fun. 3 was nice, took the north exit out of 4, prob should have gone right to 6, slow on 7, took the northerly later route to 8, back out the same way to 9, got behind Matt on ten and then took a slightly longer routechoice to 11 (and went to the wrong way round the bush, and fell over) but he mis-executed his line. Went right at the end of #12? Across the rope bridge, round the path to 13, 14. Took a while to cross the road going over the embankment and right to 17. Didn't want to run along the road to the finish, though the field would be nicer, and the hedge even quicker; but for most of it it was as green as is mapped so took a few attempts before finding an exit.
Actually felt half-decent for most of it. Orienteering was fun and good if maybe taking a bit long over decisions. Happy.
Commute 30 [3] 11.0 km (3 / km)
Went to find John and the Filton athletics track, forgot about the BMX track. Deceptively renamed to sgs (South Gloucester and Stroud college) which sounds more like a security firm so took a few attempts. Back via Coldharbour road, still convinced my way's faster.
