Orienteering race 38:10 [5] 4.87 km (7:51 / km) +152m 6:47 / km

Really enjoyed the map.... Sadly not the course, massive catching features such as powerlines, fences, lakes, if not near them, they were visible from previous control or start. Very disappointing. Physical area, lack of recent long runs and general lack of training came home to roost.
3rd again, 2 mins, Bill, 1 min Charlie.

EDIT TO ADD. reading Chas's comment about #2, I see it now, Crag for #1 is too high on map, should be 2 contours lower. With my eyesight I read 1 & 2 as being on same contour and I still had to climb a little to control, but was within my own error margin so thought nothing of it.

Happy enough at end, and went as expected considering recent training. I am 10 to 15 secs km down on top fitness and I felt it on this fast easy course. I enjoyed the run and participating in an IOC sprint with a quality field, but the event itself was underwhelming.
3rd M50, 4 secs down on Bill, who was 8 secs down on a visitor from Belgium. I was 45 secs ahead of first M45

Note

Glendasan, seems we got away with the event. Courses were fairly spot on, certainly issues with a couple controls, where many lost time but no specific complaints.
All the courses had to be redone from scratch with 2 weeks to go due to a clash with a running event that was routed through the original competition area , including the finish. My main role as controller was helping sort out new courses , in particular TD 2 to 4 courses. The TD 5 courses were rehashed using existing control sites.
